Peter Dunning
Head Coach
|
Peter has been the Club’s Head Tennis Coach since 2000. He qualified as an ECA coach in 1995 and was initially a licensed coach for Richmond Council. Peter has organised comprehensive adult and junior group coaching programmes at the Pensford, and he is also available for private lessons.
Peter plays competitively for clubs in Kent and Essex as well as representing the Pensford in the Surrey league. He has also represented Essex at Veterans County level and has recently earned his first international ranking points in a Grade 1 Veterans Tournament in Italy.

Bernie Ferrao
Assistant Coach

Bernie joined the Pensford Coaching Team in January 2009. He has been playing tennis since he was 5 years old. He has played for his province in Zimbabwe and, in 1992, as an exchange student to Brighton, Colorado, he was Skyline League District #2 Champion and then went on to play in the Colorado State tennis finals.
From 1993-1996 he was the Northland College (Ashland, Wisconsin, USA) Tennis Champ. He has 15 years international experience from the USA, Zimbabwe and the UK (Hampshire, Somerset, Middlesex and now Surrey). He has both LTA and PTR Coaching qualifications.
Bernie will be helping to deliver the junior coaching programme, the adult Pay and Play sessions and he is also available for private lessons.

Dan Matkin
Assistant Coach
|
Dan joined the coaching team in August 2009. He has extensive experience of coaching both adults and juniors, in groups and individually.
He is a cover supervisor at Teddington School and was Club Manager for Tennis England.
Dan will be helping to deliver the junior coaching programme and he is also available for private lessons.
He has represented Surrey at football and athletics.

Daniel Lowther
Assistant Coach

Daniel has been an Assistant Coach since 2007. He qualified as a USPTR Tennis Instructor in 2004 and he too maintains his LTA License. He spent two summers, 2004 and 2005 coaching at the New England Tennis Camp in New York, coaching children between the ages of 8-17, at all ability levels, ranging from beginners to tournament players.
He is now only available on a part-time basis to assist with club coaching.
Daniel was Captain of his school tennis team, and also represented Oxford University. He also plays for Pensford in the Surrey league.
